For over 30 years my focus has been on criminal law, both as a prosecutor and a defense attorney. My years of experience have given me the skill and knowledge necessary to protect my client's rights and to effectively advocate on their behalf, both in and out of the courtroom. The advice I provide to my clients is based on my years of experience in the area of criminal law. My advice is straight forward and sometimes blunt. I will not hesitate to tell a client that the course of action they want to pursue will not achieve the desired result. However, ultimately it is the client who decides whether to fight the accusations in the courtroom or settle the case. No matter how a client chooses to proceed, it is my duty to assure that their rights are protected and that they are treated fairly during all phases of the case. The highest duty of an attorney defending a person accused of a crime is to advocate for the accused and to stand between them and the government. The government has enormous power and resources. To be effective in fulfilling the duty to protect the client, skill, knowledge and experience are essential.
